Japan’s education system is known for producing well-behaved and respectful children. Now tourists have a chance to dip their toe into the country’s culture by taking part in an experience that puts them in the shoes of a Japanese school kid.
Visitors get a taste of a system seen as a microcosm of Japanese society and a building block of national identity at a once abandoned junior high school near Tokyo thanks to the “Kimi no Koko” experience, which translates as “Your High School.”
