North Korea fires suspected hypersonic missile: South Korean sources

North Korea launched a ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan on Monday, South Korea’s military said, with military analysts suggesting Pyongyang may have tested a hypersonic weapon equipped with a solid-fuel engine.
The Japanese Defense Ministry reported that the missile, North Korea’s first launch in about two months, appears to have fallen outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone, with no damage to planes or ships reported.
